In my early years, I was an Olympic Athlete, Sport Team Manager, and a Small Business Owner.
Alongside my corporate and academic achievements, my athletic career as an Olympic bobsleigh champion adds a distinctive dimension to my profile. More than a decade in elite sport has given me deep, first-hand insight into high-performance cultures, team dynamics, and the psychology of excellence - insights that continue to shape my approach to optimizing organiszations and indivuduals.
From 1985-1994, I owned and piloted a bobsleigh racing team, taking responsibility for every factor that determines performance. Sustained success required:
(a) developing the mental and physical capabilities to compete at the highest level,
(b) recruiting, training, and leading a high-performance team,
(c) designing, manufacturing, or sourcing world-class equipment,
(d) building an environment supported by expert mechanics and technical staff,
(e) securing long-term funding through corporate sponsorships.
Through systematic competitor analysis and disciplined resource optimization, my team delivered excellence year after year. Our success was built on meticulous preparation, mutual trust, precise execution, and pronounced resilience - both in triumph and in adversity. These principles continue to inform my understanding of sustainable performance of teams and organizations.
My athletic career includes four Olympic medals, highlighted by gold in the two-man bobsleigh at Alberbille 1992 and Lillehammer 1994 - achievements that make me the most successful Olympic bobsleigh pilot in Swiss history. I also secured multiple World and European Championship titles, along with overall World Cup victories, all accomplished with equipment I personally designed and manufactured.
Beyond the medals and records, what I value most are the enduring friendships forged along the way. I remain deeply grateful that every member of our teams stayed safe throughout all our years of competition.
